About
Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where four friends kept sending each other download links at midnight. At some point we realized we were writing mini-reviews to each other anyway, so we might as well put them somewhere public. That's the whole origin story — no big studio behind us, no marketing team.
We focus on indie mobile games because that's where the surprises live. A two-person studio in a rented room can ship something more interesting than a polished sequel, and those games rarely get a fair shake in the charts.,Every game we cover, we actually install and play. Sometimes for twenty minutes, sometimes for a week. If a game bores us in the first session we say so, but we always give it enough time to show what it's trying to do.,We pick titles across genres on purpose. Puzzle fans and racing fans read this site, and we'd rather have a messy, varied catalog than a tidy one that only covers one kind of game.
Marta Lindqvist — Marta has been reviewing mobile games since the days of feature phones and still owns three cracked test devices. She runs the editorial side and argues about frame rates too much.
